Song Zhou Carrot Cake 松洲萝卜糕

There were lots of news recently that Bedok central area will be revamped to accommodate new plans there. Heard the hawker there will be affected as well so both Picky Girlfriend and Fussy Boyfriend have to act fast (and you readers too!) to try the good food there (before it's really gone!)

And this is one carrot cake store that Picky Girlfriend will highly recommend.














And again it's the Black vs White competition with Picky Girlfriend voting for the former and Fussy boyfriend for the latter!





















We were lucky as we were there in the early evening to avoid the crowd. And our order was ready pretty quickly!

After tasting both, even Fussy Boyfriend who loves white version has to admit that the black version did better this time round and win hands down over the white! The black carrot cake has generous serving of eggs and that the level of sweetness is just nice. We love the fact that the eggs are nicely coated with the sweet sauce!

Some of the parts were also slightly charred and gave it a slight crispy texture. The texture of the carrot cake is soft and a little Q which is really yummy! White version on the other hand has more chai poh added but lacking in the the eggs that we both love in white version. Those where all the carrot cake are coated with eggs.
