Chye Seng Satay 再成猪肉沙爹

Earlier in our previous post, we recommended QQ soyabean curd. And now if you are around the area, you should try this satay store as well which is located opposite of QQ soyabean!

According to the lady boss, she took over this business from her grandfather who started the business in the 1960s so she's the 2nd generation who is selling Hainanese style satay.

What's so special about the Hainanese stye is the fact that the peanut sauce will be added with pineapple to make the sauce more fragrant and also creates a tinge of tangy and sweet taste to it which really made it more refreshing. Lady boss was also very generous with providing the pineapple!

Stir well and dip it in!

Picky girlfriend and Fussy boyfriend ordered 10 sticks of chicken satay and it really tasted awesome! The meat was well marinated with a slight crisp on the exterior. The peanut satay sauce with pineapple was really a good complement to it.

There were also pork and mutton satay available if you are looking for alternatives. Regarding which is the more popular meat, lady boss told us that pork and chicken were really on par so it was hard to gauge which is more popular!

Another plus point is that the satays here are super affordable! At 40cents per stick for pork and chicken, this was really the cheapest that is available in the market. Both Picky Girlfriend and Fussy Boyfriend recced on other satay stores, and indeed others were selling at least 50cents per stick and above.

Must try! :)

Both Picky Girlfriend and Fussy Boyfriend Rating for satay: 4.25/5
