Ang Mo Kio Broadway Claypot Rice

Hi all, sorry for the long hiatus! This is another store that was recommended by our friend and we went to try this. This place was apparently quite famous as quite alot of our friends are aware of this when we told them about this store.

In fact this store as a 30 years history! Picky Girlfriend always felt that for a store to remain running for so long, the food must be good!

And the store looks like this. We thought it was a little confusing as the place seems to be selling bak kut teh when their main highlight is the claypot rice!

Claypot rice comes in $6, $8 and $12 option. We actually ordered the 2 person portion but ended up it was $12! So do be careful when you are ordering. You may want to mention the price instead of the number of people sharing, if not you may end up with a super large serving... like ours!

First take - sizzling hot claypot with lots of rice and generous serving of chicken and chinese sausages!

The trick to eating claypot rice is to stir and mix the rice well together with the ingredients and to make sure the dark soya sauce is well mixed as well. For Picky Girlfriend, she will eat only usually only eat the rice which is not burnt, but Fussy Boyfriend is entire opposite and will scrape the burnt rice that has turned crispy to eat!

And after tasting this, the chicken is really tender and well marinated! This particular claypot also has salted fished in it. And surprisingly the salted fish was quite different from the ones we have tried before. This one seems fresher, less salty and also softer to bite. A great combination with the claypot rice!

Overall quite yummy but the $12 was really too much for the both of us!

Both Picky Girlfriend and Fussy Boyfriend's Rating for Claypot Rice: 3.75/5
