Dong Ji Fried Kway Teow 东记炒粿条

What's the place that you can think of for a good plate of fried kway teow? Many actually! The one that we are going to recommend is something that we thought was slightly different.

Queue was quite long even in the morning

Our Fried Kway Teow after queuing for about 15-20mins. What is the striking thing that you can see from the photo that is not so common for a typical plate of fried kway teow?

YES! if you managed to spot it, it's the use of prawns as one of the ingredients! Yes and in fact comes with 3 pieces of big whole prawns!

And Picky Girlfriend really loves the fact that the intestines of the prawns have been removed so you won't have some messy moments trying to dig the intestines (Bad habit of Picky Girlfriend! Oops!)

To continue, the kway teow was awesome! Fussy boyfriend thought the overall colour looks lighter and would have prefered one with extra sweet sauce used.

The colour combination was nice! A little tinge of red (sausage), yellow (eggs), orange (prawns) and a little green (vegetables) made the dish looking all appealing :)

Other than the prawns, the chinese sausages used were also much chunkier than other stores. You know some stores are so stingy with their use of chinese sausages that it's so hard to even spot them. So fans who love chinese sausages will love this plate of fried kway teow!

PS: According to Fussy Boyfriend who has been eating Fried Kway Teow since long long ago from this store. The kway teow taste nicer when the uncle is all pissed off and bad attitute! If he smiles at you then probably you won't get a nice plate of kway teow! No hard truths on this, so let us know if you happen to try to see if this is true! :)

Both Picky Girlfriend and Fussy Boyfriend's rating of fried kway teow: 4/5
