Swee Heng Wanton Noodle 瑞兴云吞面

We finally went over to Chomp Chomp - the place where you can find lots of good food!

We brought a guest, Starry Starry Night along with us to show us around since she was really the best person as that's where she grew up eating the food there! Definitely a reliable 地头蛇 (referring to somemore who really knows the place well!) :)

Starry starry Night mentioned this is a a must try and the store has been there since she was young and we definitely gonna like it! The store owner was also very friendly when we asked for photos of the store to be taken.

First take:

Wanton Mee, $3.20

With the noodles being green, it's really hard to differentiate which is vegetables and which is noodles. And we have seen green mee kia, but this is the first we are seeing green mee pok!

Closer look

The char siew is a little charred at the side which we like! :)

These noodles are spinach noodles and have to be specially requested, the default is still the normal yellow noodles. And when we took a first bite, we knew why Starry Starry Night say this is a must try!

The texture is really very springy and more 'q' than the normal noodles! When mixed well with the chilli, it does give you the extra oomph to it. The chilli has a strong shrimp fragrance and goes well with the noodles. Even Fussy Boyfriend who can't really take spicy food enjoyed the noodles to the very last strand!

The wanton also has generous meat filling in it and we like the fact that the wanton skin is so smooth and thin :)

Tips:
  • Go with the healthier choice! Request for spinach noodles (you will not regret this!)
  • They have fried wanton as alternative if you do not fancy the normal wanton in soup
Both Picky Girlfriend and Fussy Boyfriend Rating for wanton noodle: 4/5
